Yes. Adolf Hitler used it years ago to wreck havoc upon the face of the earth killing millions of people in the process.

So, it can be used by anyone for either good or evil purposes.

Now, apart from the fact that these are all men of God, what else do you think is common to all of them?

Here it is:

They all have massive followers – And they generate billions of Naira every year as a result.

By now, you are probably thinking – But Toyin, don’t you think it is because of God’s blessings upon them?

I won’t deny that but that is not the point here.

Like I told you before, even terrorists like Adolf Hitler use this same system for evil purposes.

The point here is this – All these pastors use the 5-step system I am about to show you to build huge numbers of people that like, trust and respect them.

As a result, these followers put a lot of money in their pockets by buying the various products that they have to offer.

Again, this is not just for pastors.

This 5-Step System will also help you build an audience of people that will happily give you money.

This system is the basic frame-work for all the successful online businesses that I have ever built.

Here Is How the 5-Step System Works:

STEP ONE:

Identify the Audience You Want to Serve

This first step is crucial.

If this step is missed, every other step falls flat.

Smart pastors know that they are not called to serve all types of people. So,they identify the group of people they are meant to serve and focus on those ones. You should know this too.

E.g The type of people following Pastor Kumuyi is usually different from the type you will find in MFM or Daystar Christian Centre or House on the Rock.

Each of these pastors know who they want to serve and they focus on going after them alone.

This is the first step.

Back in Dec 2008, here is what I did.

I focused only on serving an audience of Nigerians who wanted to make money online by selling information products.

STEP TWO: 

Identify and Understand Their Core Problems

Once you have identified the audience you want to serve, it is now time to identify and understand the pains and frustrations they want to avoid or some core desires that they want to get.

E.g. The type of prayer points you will hear people focus on in MFM is different from the type of prayer points been raised at Daystar or House on the rock.

There is even a huge church here in Lagos that is known for family and marital issues.

The point here is that each of these pastors know the type of challenges that the audience they want to serve are facing.

People are attracted to someone who understands their problems.

When I chose to serve the audience of Nigerians who wanted to make money selling information products online, I found out that one of the problems they were facing had to do with creating information products that sell like crazy.

More on this later.

STEP THREE:

Put Together a Message that Resonates With Your Audience

Think about it.

The type of message that is preached at Deeper life is not the type of message you will hear when you go to Christ Embassy.

Each leader in these places is focused on dishing out the type of message that resonates with their audiences based on their problems and desires.

When this audience listen to what you are offering, they will be attracted to you because it resonates with them

Like I said, this also works in any area of life that you are involved in.

E.g Fuji crooners like Wasiu Ayinde, Obesere etc know exactly the type of stuffs that their audience crave and they give it to them. They don’t try to be like King Sunny Ade or Fela Anikulapo

Like I said before, when I decided to serve Nigerians who wanted to succeed at making money online selling information products, I simply created a report titled – “7 Fast Ways to Create Hot Info-Products that Will Sell and Sell Like Crazy”

That report was what attracted people to start following me.

STEP 4:

Identify Where and How to Reach Them

This one is key and it still leans on the first step.

If you do not know the type of audience you are after, you will be lost trying to find them.

I see a lot of marketers crying about how their Facebook advert is not working and it is because they missed that first crucial step.

A lot of struggling pastors out there think every unbeliever they see is their market.

But let me tell you how what a smart pastor I know does instead:

Every year, Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock organises a huge gospel concert known as the Experience where they bring together various top gospel artists all over the world.

And guess what?

The sole purpose of that event is to attract upward mobile youths (His audience)

You must know how to do this too.

If the audience you are after for instance is women who are passionate about their beauty and fashion, you can find them online in places like BellaNaija, Instagram, LindaIkeji (that is the WHERE part)

Then simply use something that focuses on their problems and desires (E.g a video on secret make up tricks) to attract them.

STEP FIVE:

Share the Message with Them in Way that is Focused on Helping Them

Finally, once you have been able to attract the people you want, it is time for you to start sharing your valuable information with them in a way that shows that you know what you are talking about and in a way that helps them.

Once you do this effectively, these people will like, trust and respect you and that is how you build influence and reciprocity.

From here, all you need to do is recommend any product(either yours or that of someone else) to this audience and they will buy almost anything you have for sale as long as they can afford it.

E.g. Imagine if you have a new book and Pastor Adeboye simply says to his audience – “A son of mine just wrote this new book titled ABC and the book will really help you. All you need is N2000 to get one today”

What do you think will happen?

Yes. You got it. You will sell thousands overnight.

But of course, your chances of getting Pastor Adeboye or any of those people listed above to recommend your product is as slim as been able to get a monkey to talk.

So, what do you do instead?

Simply do the same thing I did.

It is the same thing Otunba Akin Alabi did.

Which is – Build your own audience of people who will like and trust you.

As a result, they will happily spend their money buying your products and that of others that you recommend.

Otunba Akin Alabi did it by building an online forum where he shared valuable information with his audience.

Even when he started Nairabet back then, he started by building an online forum/community for football fans who are interested in betting.

I usually do this by getting the audience I am targeting to subscribe to an email list where I can communicate with them.
